Hi Bob, Nice to have met you while you were in Port Saint John with your family. Darn, there are alort of McCool's out there. Somebody asked where the name McCool came from? Well , there is a story in my family that the name McCool came from County Cork, Ireland. that there was a gaint named Finn McCool and he created the rock islands by throwing huge stones in the ocean in order to chase the British (Saxons) away. Well, its a story anyway!

Hello all... Looking for info on a BERNARD McCOOL, b. 1850 in Rhode Island. Bernard married Caroline Tancred, b. 1851 in Connecticut. The couple had three children, Sarah Ann McCool (b. 1870, married in Blackstone, MA, 1910), Joseph R. McCool (b. 1882 in MA, my great-grandfather) and George E. McCool, b. 1879, possibly married to an Elizabeth or "Lizzie," or a Mary. I've compiled this info from various census records freely available online. Bernard was a "pool-room keeper" in Blackstone, MA, and was alive until sometime between 1900-1910.
Both sets of parents of Bernard McCool were born in Ireland, but I've no idea re. any of their names. If anyone knows anything about any of this, please share! Stay cool! :)

Hello distant relatives! I'm just starting out with this genealogy stuff. My name is Jason McCool, so clearly we're related somewhere along the line. I'm 33, from Brockton, MA, but now live in Silver Spring, MD (I'm the same person who posted on this site back in 2001 from NYC.)
Anyway, my father is Joseph Raymond McCool (b. 3/23/41), from Woonsocket, RI; his father was Charles McCool (b. around 1905, probably Blackstone, MA or Woonsocket, RI); and finally, his father was Joseph Raymond McCool, and all I know about him (my paternal great-grandfather) was that he was a trolley conductor in Providence, RI. I did find a record for a Joseph McCool, b. 1877 in County Tyrone, Ireland, and wouldn't be surprised if this was the same man. Any leads? Also, it seems that most McCool references in the US pop up around the Southern and Midwestern states, but I've found very little in the New England region, though there certainly are others from those parts. I imagine somewhere in the late 1800s, one of them must have migrated up toward the MA/RI area? Any info you can contribute is greatly appreciated! Best, Jason McCool PS - And yes, we do have the "coolest" name ever. It's almost a daily story, right? ;)

Hi, I am formerly from Pittsburg Ks. Was married to David Alan McCool, in 1986. I don't remember many of the family names, but think they originally were from Orange county Florida. David's grandad I believe was Allen (Alan) McCool, married to Ouida Dove (who was a full blood Indian). David's dad is Arthur Alan (sp?) Mother is Earleen (Renfro). Siblings are Calvin, Christy, Kelley, Dana Arthur, and Kerri. When I met David, his Grandmother was living in Kansas City, Ks. But she later moved to Pittsburg Ks. I plan to get this site to David, so he can send it on to his sister, I am sure she knows more than I do.

I truly wonder if all of us are related some how, I was born and raised in Southern California, however I think my dad was from Michagan. I'm trying to do my family tree however I never met anyone on my dad's side of the family. if we are all related its nice to have such a big family.
