I'm very interested in the McCool Geneology. I have since become the family researcher and developer of our family tree, passed down by my father years ago. Allen Glen McCool, his Father Earnest "Mac" Lee McCool.

My grandfather, Benjamin Franklin McCool, was born in June of 1893 in Rome, Georgia. For some reason, his mother left Georgia with him and moved to Texas. The name on her tombstone in Texas is Mary Amburn. I am not sure if she was divorced or what. My grandfather changed his name to McCole at some point when he was a young adult. I visited Oscar & Agnes McCool in 1977 and of course did not record any information. Any leads on my grandfather's father, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Just stopped in to research and say "Hello" from the Mississippi Gulf Coast! Our immediate family is from Kosciusko, MS (Attala Co). Sidney A. McCool is my father, Roby Mac McCool is my Grandfather, George Washington McCool III is my Great-grandfather. The rest come from McCool, MS, areas of Alabama, Carolinas and Pennsylvania.
